About our privacy policy

Bling-it cares about your privacy. We therefore only process data that we need for (improving) our services and handle the information we have collected about you and your use of our services with care. We never make your data available to third parties for commercial purposes.

This privacy policy applies to the use of the website and the services offered through it by Bling-it. The effective date for these terms is 23/01/2025; upon publication of a new version, all previous versions cease to be valid. This privacy policy describes what data we collect about you, what this data is used for, and with whom and under what conditions this data may be shared with third parties. We also explain how we store your data, how we protect your data against misuse, and what rights you have regarding the personal data you have provided to us.

If you have questions about our privacy policy, you can contact our privacy officer; you will find the contact details at the end of our privacy policy.

About data processing

Below you can read how we process your data, where we (have it) stored, what security techniques we use, and who has access to the data.

Webshop software – Wix

Our webshop was developed with software from Wix. Personal data that you make available to us for our services is shared with this party. Wix has access to your data to provide us with (technical) support; they will never use your data for any other purpose. Wix is required under the agreement we have with them to take appropriate security measures. These security measures include the application of SSL encryption and a strong password policy. Wix uses cookies to collect technical information regarding your use of the software; no personal data is collected and/or stored. Wix reserves the right to share collected data within its own group to further improve the service.

Web hosting – MijnDomein

We use web hosting and email services from MijnDomein. MijnDomein processes personal data on our behalf and does not use your data for its own purposes. However, this party may collect metadata about the use of the services. This is not personal data. MijnDomein has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent loss and unauthorized use of your personal data. MijnDomein is bound by confidentiality under the agreement.

Email and mailing lists – Office Outlook

We use the services of Office Outlook for our regular business email. This party has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to prevent misuse, loss, and corruption of your and our data as much as possible. Office Outlook does not have access to our mailbox, and we treat all our email traffic confidentially.

Payment processors – Stripe

For processing (part of) the payments in our webshop, we use the Stripe platform. Stripe processes your name, address, and residence details, as well as your payment details such as your bank account or credit card number. Stripe has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. Stripe reserves the right to use your data to further improve the service and to share (anonymized) data with third parties in that context. In the case of a request for deferred payment (credit facility), Stripe shares personal data and information regarding your financial position with credit rating agencies. All the safeguards mentioned above regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of Stripe's services for which they engage third parties. Stripe does not retain your data longer than permitted by law.

Reviews – WebwinkelKeur

We collect reviews through the WebwinkelKeur platform. If you leave a review via WebwinkelKeur, you are required to provide a name and email address. WebwinkelKeur shares this data with us so we can link the review to your order. In some cases, WebwinkelKeur may contact you to provide clarification on your review. When we invite you to leave a review, we share your name and email address with WebwinkelKeur. They use this data only for the purpose of inviting you to leave a review. WebwinkelKeur has taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your personal data. WebwinkelKeur reserves the right to engage third parties for the provision of the service; we have given WebwinkelKeur permission to do so. All the safeguards mentioned above regarding the protection of your personal data also apply to the parts of the service for which WebwinkelKeur engages third parties.

Shipping and logistics – PostNL

When you place an order with us, it is our task to have your package delivered to you. We use the services of PostNL for deliveries. For this purpose, it is necessary that we share your name, address, and residence details with PostNL. PostNL uses this data only for the performance of the agreement. If PostNL engages subcontractors, PostNL will also make your data available to these parties.

Invoicing and accounting – Administratiekantoor Diana de Rijk

For our administration and bookkeeping, we use the services of Administratiekantoor Diana de Rijk. We share your name, address, residence details, and details regarding your order. This data is used for administering sales invoices. Your personal data is transmitted and stored securely. Administratiekantoor Diana de Rijk is bound by confidentiality and will treat your data confidentially. Administratiekantoor Diana de Rijk does not use your personal data for purposes other than those described above.

External sales channels – Bol.com

We sell (part of) our products through the Bol.com platform. If you place an order through this platform, Bol.com shares your order and personal data with us. We use this data to process your order. We treat your data confidentially and have taken appropriate technical and organizational measures to protect your data against loss and unauthorized use.

Purpose of data processing

General purpose of processing

We use your data solely for our services. This means that the purpose of processing is always directly related to the order you place. We do not use your data for (targeted) marketing. If you share data with us and we use this data to contact you at a later time other than at your request, we will ask for your explicit consent. Your data is not shared with third parties, except to comply with accounting and other administrative obligations. These third parties are all bound by confidentiality under the agreement between them and us or by oath or legal obligation.

Automatically collected data

Data that is automatically collected by our website is processed for the purpose of further improving our services. This data (for example your IP address, web browser, and operating system) is not personal data.

Cooperation with fiscal and criminal investigations

In certain cases, Bling-it may be legally required to share your data in connection with fiscal or criminal investigations by the government. In such a case, we are compelled to share your data, but we will oppose this within the possibilities the law offers us.

Retention periods

We retain your data as long as you are a client of ours. This means that we keep your customer profile until you indicate that you no longer wish to use our services. If you inform us of this, we will also interpret it as a request to be forgotten. This also means that we do not retain your data longer than two years from the last contact or transaction, unless there is a legal basis for doing so. Under applicable administrative obligations, we must retain invoices with your (personal) data; we will therefore retain this data for as long as the applicable period runs. However, employees no longer have access to your customer profile and documents we have produced in connection with your order.

Your rights

Under applicable Dutch and European legislation, you as a data subject have certain rights regarding the personal data processed by or on behalf of us. We explain below what these rights are and how you can exercise them. In principle, to prevent misuse, we only send copies of your data to the email address we already have on file. If you wish to receive the data at a different email address or for example by post, we will ask you to identify yourself. We keep a record of processed requests; in the case of a request to be forgotten, we record anonymized data. You will receive all copies of data in the machine-readable data format we use within our systems. You always have the right to file a complaint with the Dutch Data Protection Authority if you suspect that we are using your personal data incorrectly.

Right of access

You always have the right to access the data we (have) process(ed) that relates to you or can be traced back to you. You can submit a request to that effect to our privacy officer. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a copy of all data to the email address we have on file, together with an overview of the processors who have this data, stating the category under which we have stored this data.

Right to rectification

You always have the right to have the data we (have) process(ed) that relates to you or can be traced back to you rectified. You can submit a request to that effect to our privacy officer. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a confirmation at the email address we have on file that the data has been amended.

Right to restriction of processing

You always have the right to restrict the data we (have) process(ed) that relates to you or can be traced back to you. You can submit a request to that effect to our privacy officer. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you a confirmation at the email address we have on file that the data will no longer be processed until you lift the restriction.

Right to data portability

You always have the right to have the data we (have) process(ed) that relates to you or can be traced back to you processed by another party. You can submit a request to that effect to our privacy officer. You will then receive a response to your request within 30 days. If your request is granted, we will send you copies of all data about you that we have processed or that has been processed by other processors or third parties on our behalf to the email address we have on file. In all likelihood, we will not be able to continue the service in such a case, because the secure linking of databases can no longer be guaranteed.

Right to object and other rights

In certain cases, you have the right to object to the processing of your personal data by or on behalf of Bling-it. If you object, we will immediately cease data processing pending the handling of your objection. If your objection is well-founded, we will make copies of data we (have) process(ed) available to you and then permanently cease processing. You also have the right not to be subject to automated individual decision-making or profiling. We do not process your data in such a way that this right applies. If you believe this is the case, please contact our privacy officer.

Google Analytics

Cookies from the American company Google are placed on our website as part of the "Analytics" service. We use this service to track and receive reports on how visitors use the website. This processor may be required under applicable laws and regulations to provide access to this data. We have not allowed Google to use the analytics information obtained for other Google services.

Third-party cookies

In the event that third-party software solutions use cookies, this is mentioned in this privacy policy.

Changes to the privacy policy

We reserve the right to change our privacy policy at any time. However, you will always find the most recent version on this page. If the new privacy policy has consequences for the way we process data we have already collected regarding you, we will inform you by email.
